“Better At Home” Services (Fee for Service)
Better at Home is a province-wide program funded by the Government of BC and managed by the United Way of the Lower Mainland to help seniors remain independent at home and stay connected with their community. Deltassist is the service provider for all of Delta.
Better at Home supports seniors to age in place with dignity, stay socially connected and prevents social isolation, especially among seniors who are most vulnerable. The program recognizes that seniors are an important and growing part of our community and helps them with simple day-to-day tasks.
Under the Deltassist Better at Home program, seniors have access to a range of non-medical home support services such as light housekeeping, basic home repair, yard work and rides to medical appointments. Fees for service are on a sliding scale based on income.
New Better at Home Service:
Rides to Medical Appointments ( there is a fee for this service)
Volunteers drive seniors that do not have any other means of transportation (such as HandyDART, friends or family) to medical appointments. The cost for this service covers the mileage costs the volunteer driver incurs and is based on the distance of the trip. Parking fees are also the responsibility of the senior.
